Square One Fun Size!

Square One have been enjoying a well-earned break after our last party at the Thekla back in December, but we reckon we're about ready to get back on the case with the promotion once more. We're all set to dust off the records, blu-tac up the posters and pounce on unsuspecting clubbers with handfuls of flyers.

However, we've decided to ease ourselves back in nice and gently with a tasty little knees-up at everyone's favourite bijou boite, Cosies. We're calling it Square One Fun Size! Expect the usual heavyweight dancefloor niceness, with all bases covered - from hip hop to dancehall to funk and all points in between.

Square One's very own Mr Benn will be playing his usual eclecticism, current party favourites, and his own tunes and mashups that have recently won him praise from the likes of Soul Jazz, DJ Yoda, JSTAR, Daddy G and Andy Smith - to name but a few.

Next up is Dub Boy - Ruffnek Diskotek's head honcho and 'purveyor of forward thinking bashment music'. We decided that our party would be incomplete without his choice mix of reggae, dub and dancehall riddims - and considering how many nights he's playing at at the moment it seems everyone else does, too!

After working with Mr Benn on a remix for the next Leisure Recordings release, Drake Scorpio joins us at Cosies to play records that will more than likely include large basslines and silly noises - accompanied by even sillier dancing. Three very good reasons not to miss him we think...

Finally, we welcome [aZa]RUMBOT for his Square One debut. An interesting name and an interesting interest in music to go with it. We can't be sure what musical treasures he'll unleash from his trusty laptop, but we can tell you they'll be a mix of the bizarre and the expected, and his selection will definitely keep you on your toes...
